Miniature Parrot sculpts by Pajutee Miniature Parrot sculpts by Pajutee
Two dollhouse miniature 1:12 scale parrots - Blue & Gold Macaw and Sulfer-crested Cockatoo.  Both birds have handsculpted bodies of black polymer clay with wire feet (the wire allows the feet to grip onto a variety of surfaces).  Coats are a mixture of hand-cut parrot feathers and powder fine flock.  These parrots reside in a private collection among other feathered friends.

You can't fool me.
Those birds are actually life size, and are sitting on a giant pencil. (Just kidding, just kidding)

Considering how good your work is, I wouldn't be surprised if you made the pencil, too.

I have posted several tutorials online to sculpt, paint, feather & flock a parrot.  One is still available for free on CDHM.org under their tutorials.  It is HOW TO make a conure parrot.  You can adapt this technique to make other parrots if you are comfortable with sculpting polymer clay in a small scale.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought they were real birds sitting on a giant pen. (Because giant pens make more sense than miniature birds in my head, apparently...)
Any way, all your works look so amazingly well done. Congratulation on the well deserved DD!

Those birds are perhaps the finest miniatures I've seen in a very long time.  As a fellow miniaturist, I commend your skill.

Amazing. From the thumbnail this looked like a photo manip (because obviously these birds would not fit on a pencil, but to my mind, they looked absolutely real).

Well done! Impressive sculptures. How small a paint brush did you use and how long did it take you?

To paint this size, usually a 15/0 or one of my fav brushes is the Wargamer Psycho.  The sculpt plus adding the paint and feathers & fiber average about 6-8 hours.

Wow...that must take a lot of patience. I can see the results! I showed my friends and they were like..."there is no way that is a sculpture." But then they took a second look and they were amazed just like I was. :)
